Red White and Blue
I am currently struggling with a couple of watercolours - another "old man" and another "young people in love". To have a break, I looked over my many photographs on the computer. I was attracted to these three because of the fresh red, white and blue colouring. They remind me of how I enjoy colour in paintings and to emphasize that in my next two efforts.

Well ... as I was a photographer long before I took up painting, photography must be art! LOL
Joseph Zbukvic, the super Australian watercolourist, has an interesting "take" on using photos as reference for painting - he does his editing right on the print. A poor man's Photoshop, if you will. Go to http://www.colourinyourlife.com.au/tv-show and scroll down to his interview. Worthwhile.
